While adults are busy with llamas and burros in Fairplay, area children have the opportunity to compete in the annual Kiddies Pack Dog Race in Alma, just six miles north of Fairplay.

The brain child of Carol Davis and Al Baumeister, the annual event gives kids the chance to participate in a "mini"
version of the famous World Championship Pack Burro Race.
The twist? Kids run with their favorite four-legged pooch.
And, like the professional runners, they also have some pretty challenging requirements.
